Welcome to Sabbia Fine Jewelry

At Sabbia, we love the art of fine jewelry making. Our mission, since we opened our first location as an Alex Sepkus boutique on Oak Street in Chicago in 2000, has been to support unique and exceptional artists. Sepkus’ unusual, sculptural designs and his unique use of the wax carving technique of fine jewelry making captivated founder, Debbie Friedmann. In 2001, Sabbia was created as an expansion of the Alex Sepkus boutique, representing additional fine jewelry collections including the work of Lina Fanourakis, among others.

While the Fanouakis and Sepkus collections are completely distinct, what they have in common is the uniqueness of their designs and the quality of their craftsmanship. Over the past 22 years, our mission has remained to support small, often family owned jewelers who maintain the highest level of craftsmanship while creating inspiring, unique and unparalleled designs.

In 2002, we opened our second location at the Ritz Carlton on Key Biscayne in Miami with the same mission: to introduce unique fine jewelry to the Key through the work of small, high quality craftsmen. We are proud to represent award winning artists who maintain a unique and quality craft. Although some of the brands that we represent have grown since we began carrying the collections— from small, family run manufacturers to renowned names in the fine jewelry industry—each artist represented in our stores remains committed to quality and cutting edge design and maintains an unpretentiousness, sharing our love and appreciation for our customers. In addition to Alex Sepkus and Lina Fanourakis whose collections we continue to feature, you can find Tamara Comolli, Cynthia Ann, Eclat, Sylva & Cie, Hulchi Belluni, Sydney Evan, Dries Criel, Bella Corda and Mariani among the designers we are proud to feature in our boutiques.

We believe in the importance of supporting the art of handmade jewelry. As the fine jewelry industry has slowly shifted to mass markets and mass production, it is essential that we preserve the ancient art of fine jewelry making and ensure that we maintain this beautiful tradition for future generations.

Beyond the important purpose of adornment, historically, fine jewelry and gemstones have been used to heal and to protect as well as to celebrate beautiful moments in our lives.

We love connecting our clients to meaningful pieces of jewelry created by artists who share a connection to the history and meaning behind the pieces they create.

At Sabbia, we find joy in providing a unique experience, helping our clients celebrate life's milestones or treat themselves to something special. We look forward to sharing our love of fine jewelry with you.
